You can reach me via e-mail for inquiries, quote requests or anything else. Mixing/mastering services are charged per track/project - everything else is charged by the hour. About me
-
Who is Simon?
I've been involved in music and audio for over 10 years. Throughout these years I've collected credits with indie-rock bands, opera singers, jazz trios, singer/songwriters and chamber ensembles - my niche would most certainly be music of the acoustic variety.
The philosophy I follow can be described in a single word: control. I have no qualms about doing tedious work if it means the end result will be as powerful as it is precise - this philosophy was beaten into me during my bachelor degree in chamber music and it has carried over to my other skills in mixing, recording, production as well as teaching.
Some people would describe audio engineering as an art of embellishing music, but I think differently: audio engineering is about "unclothing" the music. An artist's intent ought to be bare and out in the open, where it is free to be dissected and enjoyed more thoroughly than it otherwise would be. This reasoning can also be applied to the interpretation of music in the role as a performer.
If you have an idea primed to put into action, get in touch.

Q&A
-
Which DAW(s) do you use?
I use Cockos Reaper for recording and engineering. I also use Ableton Live for writing, production and sound-design.
-
Which guitar do you treasure the most?
That would be my Johannes Kitselis 2026 spruce double-top with flamed maple back and sides. That guitar is gorgeous in more ways than there are stars in the universe.
-
Do you have a favourite microphone?
Currently I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with a pair of Sontronics Sigma 2 microphones.
-
What's your favourite plugin?
If I could only have one... the Waves Scheps Omni Channel 2 would be it.
